Description
The Dracaena marginata is a green houseplant that brings a touch of the tropics to your home. It looks somewhat like a palm tree, with a sturdy trunk and long, slender leaves. It is an ideal choice for people with less green fingers. Originally found in Africa, the Dracaena also appears in tropical regions, mainly in higher areas, where it can reach heights of up to 14 meters! The Dracaena is also known as the dragon tree because of the red resin that oozes from its trunk when cut. There are many legends surrounding this plant, including one that claims it was created during a fight between an elephant and a dragon. The branches of this tree are often associated with the multiple heads of a dragon.
