Description

The Ficus Tineke is a popular houseplant known for its striking leaves. It is a variety of the Ficus elastica, also called the rubber plant, and owes its name to the two-tone leaves. The leaves of the Ficus Tineke are large, shiny and oval-shaped. They have a beautiful mix of green and cream-colored shades, with the green color predominating and the cream-colored veins and edges running through the leaves. This color combination gives the plant a playful and lively appearance. The Ficus Tineke is a relatively easy plant to care for and can thrive both in the home and in the office. It tolerates different light conditions, but generally does best in bright, indirect light. Direct sunlight can burn the leaves, while too little light can lead to slower growth and less color contrast in the leaves. In terms of watering requirements, it is important to keep the soil slightly moist. However, it is also important to avoid keeping the plant in soil that is too wet, as this can lead to root rot. Allow the top layer of soil to dry out slightly between waterings before watering again. In terms of temperature, the Ficus Tineke thrives at moderate room temperatures between 18°C and 24°C. It can tolerate lower temperatures, but temperatures below 10°C should be avoided. The Ficus Tineke is generally not demanding when it comes to nutrition. A general houseplant fertilizer can be used during the growing season (spring and summer) according to the instructions on the package. Fertilizers should be used sparingly during the winter months or stopped altogether, as the plant is usually dormant during this period. Please note that the Ficus Tineke is poisonous to pets and humans when ingested. Keep it out of reach of curious pets and children.
